1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using PhotoEffects ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
PhotoEffects is an iOS application that removes the background from photos using on-device machine learning and applies stylized visual effects rendered with Metal shaders. Results can be exported to your photo library or shared.
3. Free Tier and Subscriptions
The App is free to download and includes a selection of effects with a watermark applied to exports. PhotoEffects Pro unlocks all effects and removes the watermark.
- Pro is an auto-renewing subscription: $4.99/week (with a 3-day free trial) or $29.99/year.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The weekly plan starts with a 3-day free trial. Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings at any time.
- Prices may vary by region and are shown in the App before purchase.
4. Your Content
You retain all rights to your photos and to the images you create with the App. Because all processing happens on your device, we never receive, store, or claim any rights over your content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use and edit the photos you process.
5. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, effects, and underlying technology, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to create content that is unlawful, infringes the rights of others, or is intended to deceive (for example, misrepresenting edited images as unedited originals in contexts where that matters).
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that subject detection or effects will meet your expectations for every photo.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
